Important Secretaire bureau bookcase of beautifully figured walnut and blond mahogany of the George III period and delivered to Mr. A. Babington in Cheltenham, according to the label afixed to the top(see photo). The upper part with gothic arches over original glass panes. The cornice with figured mahogany and dentil moulding. Bookcase with 3 adjustable shelves. The base with slope front in flame mahogany, opening to a fitted interior with drawers and pigeonholes around a central arched opening and fluted columns with bronze tops and various hidden drawers. Below 2 over 3 large drawers over bracket feet. Expertly restored.
