Fine early 19th century Regency sofa table. The rectangular twin drop-leaves with rounded corners, rosewood banding throughout the entire top on exceptional cathedral figured mahogany. The drop-leaves supported by inlaid twin swinging end line inlaid supports above 2 frieze drawers with opposing faux drawers. Below, a central multi-tier pedestal column with carved gadrooning trim over a concave sided quarter form base with over scrolled channeled tapering sabre shaped legs decorated at the curve with finely carved details and terminating in original hairy paw shaped brass caps with castors.

A table of outstanding craftsmanship with exquisite cathedral and crotch shaped mahogany veneers throughout, certainly created by a highly skilled cabinetmaker for a client with sophisticated taste. Totally original only refreshed by hand with French polish.
