Secretaire a abattant Biedermeier dating to the beginning of the 19th century and of Danish origin, featuring figured mahogany, line inlaid throughout and frontal columns with carved mahogany Corinthian style tops. The complex architectural pediment is of Schinkel design and serves as a secret storage compartment; below it, there is a large drawer with convex front and then a great fall-front door with internal weights that once lowered, it reveals several small and larger drawers all with ivory/bone pulls surrounding a locking cabinet whose door is adorned by two Doric columns. The fall-front door stays open horizontal and serves as a writing surface, below it there are 2 large drawers and a double sized third drawer at the bottom. The front feet are round and serve as bases for the columns. All the locks are original with keys and all the escutcheons/keyholes are lined with ivory/bone. Totally original and in excellent condition.
