Biedermeier Bergeres Pair

Description

Fine pair of honey coloured birchwood bergeres of the Biedermeier period with tub type seats. Most likely of south German origin, they are discreetly adorned with hand-cut brass ornaments on both sides of the ends of the downswept arms and on the inside of the upper part of the shoulder board. The front legs are straight and tapering, the rear being outsplayed. They have been fully restored and french polished, as well as newly upholstered with appropriate white fabric. Very comfortable.
