Exquisite and rare set of 6 dining chairs of the Biedermeier period and of Austrian origin, created with maple and birch wood. There are fine hand painted designs on the upper part of the back splats which curve in S form to attach onto a trapezoidal form seat with slightly bowed front. The moldings around the seat are ebonized. Drop-in seats and padded back panel, both removable and a very unusual for that period. The rear legs are of sabre shape and complete the very profile of these chairs. Lovingly restored and newly upholstered, they are a pleasure to look at from any angle.
