Fine ladies Davenport type desk dating to the Victorian period, the upper section of burr walnut veneers with fine ebony and satinwood marquetry. The central leather lined writing surface easily rises and has a Davenport style filing and storage section at the top, all in perfect original condition. There are two side leaves that rise and stay horizontal via 4 carved supports. The perimeter of the upper section is ebony lacquered and the burr walnut and marquetry continues to the side leaves. There is a center drawer. The lower section of finely turned supports with ebony touches and pirouette decorations all on curved and substantial legs with casters. In excellent original condition only lightly refreshed with shellac.
