German Biedermeier Commode 1800-1810 - SOLD

Description

Fine Early Biedermeier Commode of German origin made of elm and burr elm veneer. There are 2 frontal ebonized columns with giltwood Ionic capitals. The 3 graduated drawers feature historic type pressed brass pulls that feature 2 portraits and other insignia along with the word "Völkerdank" which as far as we understand means "Thanks to the People" in old German. All four legs are of block type that terminate in ebonized square pads. Totally restored in excellent condition.
