An inlaid mahogany and rosewood banded longcase clock, the painted roman dial with subsidiary seconds and date dial, signed `H. Ayre, Gateshead`, with date 1823, spandrels painted with four seasons and a Burns-type courting scene to arch, the two train movement with anchor escapement, the case with pierced fretwork frieze and brass finials, the arched glazed door below flanked by plain tapered columns, with stringing to rectangular waist door, flanked by stringing, the strung panel base with slender bracket feet.
