Description

Extraordinary secretaire a abattant of small dimensions, of the Napoleon III period with profuse marquetry of exotic woods such as holly, satinwood and others inlaid with jewel like precision. The frontal part ebonized according to the style of the period, however all the side panels and 5 drawers frames with "bird's eye veneer of Thuya". The side center panels veneered with Peruvian walnut. Fall front door with gilt decorated leather. All gilt bronze decorations of the highest quality. The interior with 3(2 small +1 double) drawers also Thuya and holly veneered and their interior in bird's eye maple. All supported by 4 turned and ebonized feet. The top adorned with veined Portoro gray marble.

We have had the opportunity to examine various small secretaires of this period, noone however the quality and beauty of this one.
