Description

Imposing and rare Swedish Secretaire a Abattant Biedermeier dating to the middle of the 19th century, made of elm veneer over pinotea, with asymetrical ebonized columns at each frontal corner. The bureau part with a fall front door that has a special lock impossible to open even with the right key, unless one is shown how to do it. The fall front interior with several small and one large drawer at the top, as well as a central locking cabinet flanked by twin ebonised columns and steps that form secret compartments. 3 large drawers below. The fall front door and the large drawers with shield type buffalo horn keyhole escutcheons, all with original locks and keys. The base with unusual carved skirt on all three sides and bracket feet on ebonised blocks.
