Fine Georgian bureau of solid figured Cuban mahogany dating to the end of the 18th century, with fine rope line inlay and reeded quarter columns at each corner. All the interior is made of solid oak. The fall front door, once open, it reveals an original green leather writing surface and an intricate and attractive interior display of compartments and serpentine shaped drawers and some others secret, such as 2 vertical drawers appearing as leather bound books and a removable central cabinet that hides more interior secret spaces and more hidden drawers. Below the desk area there are 5 drawers, 2 smaller over 3 large ones, all with brass swan neck pulls. The desk is supported by 4 nicely molded "ogee" type feet. All locks function and have keys. In excellent original condition, professionally restored.
